BER Performance of DS-CDMA with Frequency-domain Space-Time Block Coded-Joint Transmit/Receive Diversity

Abstract(in English) Frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) transmission has been attracting attention for improving the SC transmission (e.g., DS-CDMA) performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. Recently, we proposed the space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive antenna diversity (STBC-JTRD) for a frequency-nonselective channel, which allows the use of an arbitrary number of transmit antennas while using up to 4 receive antennas. In this paper, for an application of the STBC-JTRD to a frequency-selective channel, we combine the frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) and STBC-JTRD to propose the frequency-domain STBC-JTRD (FD-STBC-JTRD). The conditional bit error rate (BER) analysis for the given set of channel gains is presented for DS-CDMA with FD-STBC-JTRD in a frequency-selective fading channel. The average BER performance is evaluated by Monte-Carlo numerical computation method using the derived conditional BER and is confirmed by the computer simulation.
