Abstract(in English) This paper studies dynamics of a relaxation oscillator whose hysteresis thresholds are controlled by a triangular signal. The oscillator relates to delta modulator for PWM control. In order to analyze the circuit dynamics we derive dimensionless equation characterized by two essential parameters and one-dimensional piecewise linear return map described explicitly. The map is equivalent to the circle map in wide parameter region and exhibits various periodic/nonperiodic behavior. Basic bifurcation phenomena are investigated in a subspace of the two parameters. A simple test circuit is fabricated and typical phenomena are confirmed experimentally.
