Total Recording System for Mobile Reception Quality Evaluation of Digital Terrestrial TV

Abstract(in English) Two years have been passed since digital terrestrial TV (DTV) service based on ISDB-Tstarted. It is expected that to see DTV in mobile is also attractive. In this paper, we present a scheme of the total recorder system which is a recorder to capture the DTV signal before demodulation of DTV. There is a merit that the system is able to capture the signal without degrading the signal quality. Therefore, this is a promising method for evaluating mobile propagation characteristics and diversity combining effect through off-line analysis. In practice, choosing proper recording parameters, such as sampling frequency and local frequency is very important for realizing practical recording system using an easily available personal computer. Because of PC specification, the system can capture two branch signals per a PC. Such a concrete example will be shown in the paper.
