Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Some kinds of organic crystals have attracted attentions as nonlinear optical materials. 2-Adamanthylamino-5-nitropyridine (AANP) is a promising material because of its large nonlinear susceptibility and the possibility of phase matching in the near-infrared region. In order to achieve high efficiency of propagation and modulation of light, it is necessary to fabricate optical waveguides of those materials. In general, optical waveguides of organic materials have been fabricated by using a photolithography technique and a reactive ion etching process. But those techniques require multi-step processes. Electron beam irradiation method is well known technique for polymer patterning process in the order of nanometer. In this presentation we apply this technique to AANP single crystal to modulate refractive index of it.
