Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study aims to develop a pulse reproduction simulator using a physics based wrist model for providing virtual pulse palpation environment. This model is constructed from CT/MRI slice images and dynamically simulates the pulse from pulse wave data as reaction force in pulse palpation. Unlike foregoing medical training systems, this study constructs the model considering complex anatomical structure of the human wrist, which simulates accurate reaction force in push manipulation by a finger. We acquire model parameters from actual pulse data of examinee's wrist measured from a force sensor and examine accuracy of the developed model. The results of several functional evaluation and user study demonstrate the developed system provides realistic force feedback of human pulse in real time.
