Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to describe a non-Gaussian time series sufficiently, higher order spectra such as bispectrum have to be included in addition to the power spectrum. Especially, in monitoring of the depth of anesthetizing bispectrum of electroencepharogram (EEG) has been clinically utilized in recent years. In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate the bicoherence using pre-whitening that can suppresses statistical fluctuations in estimates by conventional method. Through some numerical examples, the validity of proposed method is shown. Further, we tried to detect non-Gaussianity of actually measured EEG by the proposed method.
