Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | To simulate the take-off motion of ski-jumping, a dynamic miniature model was developed. Using the model, the airflow and the aerodynamic force were studied in wind-tunnel experiments. The airflow around the model was visualized by the smoke method, and the aerodynamic force was measured with the 6-axes mechanical sensor. Turbulence was observed around the model's back in the mid-sagittal plane. It was found that the area of the turbulence is significantly smaller with the dynamic model than with the static model. The flow of the turbulent area toward the back of the buttocks was observed, as well. In the analysis of the temporal characteristics of the airflow and the aerodynamic force, the close correlation was found between the scale of the turbulence and the aerodynamic force, particularly the lift force. This study shows the usefulness of the dynamic miniature model for the analysis of dynamic airflow and the applicability of this model to optimize the take-off motion in ski-jumping. |
