| Abstract(in English) | Ultra-high speed 1xN optical switch sub-systems using an epitaxial PLZT thin film waveguide switch chips and driver electronics were developed. The switching speed is less than 3 ns and the driving voltage is 10 V. The sub-system with ultra-high speed switching, polarization independent switching, low-power consumption, and compact size would be very practically useful for variety of applications such as telecommunications using burst-switching and packet-switching and data communications including switched access networks, local area network, and interconnection. |
