Abstract(in English) We fabricated a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) whose optical loss and chromatic dispersion are 0.9dB/km and -20ps/nm/km at 1064nm, respectively. Using this PCF, we achieved a penalty-free 10Gb/s transmission in a new optical window, namely the 1000nm band, over 24km. We also clarified the transmission distance until which the degradation induced by the chromatic dispersion is suppressed by using the pre-chirp technique.
