Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Learning how to learn, which is called meta-learning, plays a crucial role particularly in a self-directed learning such as learning with the Web contents. The Web contents require learners not only to navigate the Web pages to construct their knowledge but also to control the navigation and knowledge construction processes. Learning how to control the navigational learning process corresponds to meta-learning of the Web contents. In this paper, we discuss how to facilitate meta-learning with tools that reify control of the navigational learning process. This paper also demonstrates a case study whose purpose was to ascertain whether the tools allow learners to develop their skills of controlling their navigational learning process. The results suggest that the tools enable the learners to meta-learn.
