Lecture Comprehension Enhancement Application Utilizing Real-time Question Sharing and Auto-grouping Capabilities

Abstract(in English) Communication between students and instructors is considered a crucial factor for lecture comprehension. However, few students are willing to nominate themselves for class participation purposes. Therefore, it is difficult for instructors to grasp the class comprehension status. In addition, long feedback periods for tests are not efficient. Respecting traditional in-class education, we consider that deploying convenient tools with computers and networks which assist instructor-student interactions is capable and effective to enhance learning and lecture quality. We designed and implemented a lecture comprehension enhancement application to aggregate students' questions and provide the instructor a useful list of inquires in real-time. This proposed application enables students to submit questions to the instructor conveniently and casually. Our application also improves the instructor's understanding of student comprehension levels. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our approach through experiments, showing an average increase of 32% in student comprehension levels. In this paper, we introduce the functionalities and features of our application and examine the feasibility and effectiveness with experiment results.
