Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Eavesdropping and unauthorized use have become serious problems in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). They are more essential than those in wired LAN, because WLAN uses radio waves to transmit information. IEEE 802.1X and other authentic methods exist to solve the problems. However, the existing methods were originally developed assuming wired LAN environments and, later, were modified and applied to authentic methods of WLAN. The methods require large-scale authentic equipment, so it can be a significant burden in respect of management and cost. On the other hand, in order to resolve eavesdropping in wireless communications, methods have been proposed to share a secret key based on propagation characteristics of wireless channel. The paper proposes new authentic methods of wireless LAN which makes use of the secret key sharing methods.
