Content-Oriented Transmission Method for Inter-Vehicle Communication

Abstract(in English) Recently, the research of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is actively treated. So far, a lot of routing protocols for MANETs have been proposed to transmit multimedia like text, voice, and video. However, the difficulty occurs in the case to obtain information (for example, real-time traffic accident information and traffic jam information etc.) whose the contents name is not known. In this case, it is difficult to communicate in MANETs where the terminal having contents should be specified before communication. We propose this content-oriented transmission method in this paper. This research assumes that the vehicles have GPS installed. The proposed system generates useful contents such as traffic accident information and traffic jam information based on fragmentary information like position, speed, direction, etc. obtained from GPS. In this paper, we propose the efficient method to collect and disperse data. We evaluate their performance by the computer simulation.
