Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ultra Wideband (UWB) is an effective technique that enables coexistence with other radio systems using very short pulses and spread spectrum. Multi Band OFDM (MB-OFDM) is inferentially proposed for personal area networks as well as pulse-based UWB. According to the FCC, both systems will be used in same band from 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz. This paper discusses the effects of interference between pulse-based UWB (p-UWB) and MB-OFDM. To mitigate the effects of interference from MB-OFDM to p-UWB, MB-OFDM band sensing in the p-UWB and multi-carrier template wave techniques are proposed. The multi-carrier template waveform is applied to the interference band detection. These techniques are found effective for the coexistence of both systems.
