Detecting method of a 3-D object by the image compression

Abstract(in English) In this paper, three-dimensional pattern-matching method is proposed. In generally, there are some obstacles in a room (i.e. chairs, desks, cats or dogs). When a mobile robot moves about in the room, they prevent the robot moving. Many arguments about valid two-dimensional pattern-matching algorithms have been made because the pattern-matching methods are fundamental task in robot visions. It's known that the image becomes unclear by the image compression. We propose a method that a normalized correlation function is employed to match a template image to a real image. The template and real images become unclear by popular image compression method, the subtractive color, JPEG and PNG processing. The validity of this method is verified by various compression techniques.
