Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, recognition based face detection is getting a major research field in Computer Vision. Especially, Paul Viola's cascaded classifier based face dete ction method is most highlighted, because of its fast detection speed while cha nging the scale, position, and orientation of the template on the image. The ad vantage of this method is that most of the inputs, i.e., non-face images are re jected in early stage of the cascade. However, this method has two limitations 1) the length of cascade becomes longer while increasing the training images in cluding multi aspect images of human faces, 2) re-training of whole classifier is required when we add a single training sample. In this paper, we propose a decision tree based classifier for solving these problems.
