Abstract(in English) We constructed an individual identification system with three-layered neural networks on back-propagation learning algorithm. Fingerprint images of gray scale were binarized and the data preprocessed by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) were used as input data of three-layered neural networks. We investigated the effects of the shift and the rotation of fingerprints on the performance of the individual identification system in the three-layered neural networks. From the results, we found that the preprocessing method of Fast Fourier Transform was useful for the construction of the individual identification system. Namely, the preprocessing of FFT is not affected by the noise when the fingerprint images are gotten, and is able to extract the feature included in the fingerprint images.
