Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A cryptographic compression function in combination with the Merkle-Damgard chaining has various apprications as a secure hash function. On the other hand, there is no (secure and effective) dedicated design for a compression function and almost all designs are based on a block cipher. Most useful constructions are known as the PGV (Preneel-Govaert-Vandewalle) construction, in which only a block cipher encryption and XOR operations are used. In this paper we focus on other two constructions of a compression function based on a block cipher found in known hash algorithms and study their securities. |
