Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Research into articulation of emotional speech may provide windows into understanding physiology of speaking and hearing. This paper reports on an acoustic and articulatory EMA study of two speakers spontaneously producing emotionally sad speech, along with a set of control (non-emotional) data. The results suggest that imitated sad speech is similar to real sad speech in acoustics, e.g., high F0, changed F1 and changed voice quality, but it is different in terms of articulation:. the lips are retracted and jaw lowered for sad speech; for imitated sad speech, the lips are protruded and jaw, raised. |
