Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The ever-increasing complexity of distributed communication network systems in this information era demands a highly level of network availability and reliability. In this context, a promising knowledge-based approach is presented to support the automated detection of performance degradations and communication faults. The network knowledge has been structured according to the CommonKADS which is a comprehensive methodology for developing reuse-based expert systems. In the proposed knowledge-intensive framework, the static domain-related concepts are composed as the domain knowledge ontology. The empirical knowledge for managing the network is represented as the fault-state causal reasoning models, and it is explicitly encoded as the core knowledge of multi-agent middleware layer as heuristic rules for inference. This task-oriented experiential knowledge manipulates the domain content and structure during the diagnostic sessions. The run-time reasoning strategy during the course of cooperative problem solving phase is provided through the interaction of agents' base-processes with the dynamic status information of the operational network system. Few application scenarios have been modeled to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed network knowledge framework. |
