Abstract(in English) | This report experimentally treats peak power measurements of ultra wideband (UWB) signals, using a spectrum analyzer (SA). Whereas UWB peak power is defined in a bandwidth of 50 MHz, most of the commercially -available SAs are not equipped with a 50-MHz resolution bandwidth (RBW), so that a conversion is needed from the spectrum measured in a narrower (e.g. 3MHz) RBW to 50 MHz. The conversion requires a value of impulse bandwidth (IBW), which is not necessarily equal to the RBW. Experiments using three different UWB signals confirmed that a conversion formula substituted by the measured IBWs yields the 50 -MHz spectra falling within a 1 -dB error. |
