Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a novel all-optical label recognition system which consists of binary-tree structured nodes of asymmetric couplers (X-junctions). This system is able to recognize the whole label modulated by Phase Shift Keying (PSK). We comfirm the routing function by using the computer simulation. Realization of all-optical self-routing with only the input label requires to utilize the phase information. Therefore, we consume that the input label is in Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK), and the label consists of control bit and a destination address bit. We obtain higher output at the correct output port by correlating the control bit and the address bits. Asymmetric X-junction has a routing ability depending on the phase of the input signals. We analyze numerically the label recognition process by using the Finite Difference Beam Propagation Method (FD-BPM). Finally, we also discuss the Crosstalk at the output ports.
