Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article describes an optical confinement factor of TE and TM modes in a Bragg fiber. The optical confinement factor of TE and TM modes in the Bragg fiber varies due to the guiding limit and cutoff. It is shown that an optical confinement of higher order mode is higher than that of lower order mode in the TM mode. For the optical confinement factor under the quarter-wave stack condition, the TE mode is better than the TM mode. The TE_<01> mode exhibits the highest optical confinement factor among all the modes.
