Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A microstrip patch antenna (MSA) is investigated for the gain improvement by a dielectric cover, which will be applied to cost-effective modules for millimeter-wave wireless communications. In this paper, we estimate the gain enhancement of a circular dielectric window (ε_r=9.6) over a MSA including the side walls of an absorber lid by use of the FDTD method. The measured gain enhancement of 4.6 dB is achieved by the circular dielectric window in the lid in the 60 GHz band.
