Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is expected in the near future that traffic engineered LSP (Label Switched Path) can be established between edge nodes in the network using the GMPLS protocol suit. An LSP with a guaranteed bandwidth may be established between the edge nodes owing to the GMPLS signaling protocol and admission control of the LSP setup requests. As a result, bandwidth guaranteed service can be provided by the end-to-end on the best-effort type network. This paper proposes network architecture to realize the end-to-end bandwidth guaranteed service based on the GMPLS path technology. First, we show an overview of the network architecture and a menu of the provided service. Next, policing function at the edge node and packet forwarding function at each node are explained in more detail. Hierarchical bandwidth management function required for the efficient admission control and billing is also explained.
