Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To realize high data rate satellite communication services for future multi-media applications, the Wideband InterNetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite (WINDS) is being developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). WINDS has Ka-band transmitting and receiving Active Phased Array Antennas (APAA), which can flexibly establish communication with any area by electronic beam scanning. This paper describes the design of the APAA and development results of a proto flight model (PFM) of transmitting APAA (TX Array Antenna) and receiving APAA (RX Array Antenna).
