Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper introduces a broadband satellite communication system, which makes efficient use of CI-OFDM (Carrier Interferometry Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex). Although OFDM is a promising technique capable of establishing frequency-efficient broadband digital transmission in a multipath propagation environment, its large peak power reduces power efficiency of the RF power amplifier because of large back-off. That is, it is difficult to apply OFDM to the satellite communication systems. Recently, CI-OFDM has been proposed for reducing peak power. CI-OFDM could improve the power and frequency efficiency of the satellite communication systems. This paper shows the structure and performance of the CI-based satellite communication system. |
