Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Liver cancer represents the final common pathological outcome for chronic hepatitis, and a number of fatalities who die from the cancer is increasing year by year. So, it is very important to develop a quantitative diagnosing method for early detection of chronic hepatitis. In our previous studies, we proposed a method to extract fibrous tissue information form echo signal of liver by using statistical information of echo signal, and we call this method Fiber Structure Extraction Technique (FSET). In this paper, we expand the processing window of FSET from 2D (2D-FSET), used in previous work, to 3D (3D-FSET) in consideration of ultrasonic beam spreading. We made up the simulation echo data, and compared the result of 2D and 3D-FSET with the use of the echo data. In the result of comparing them, it is determined that 3D-FSET extracted the objects that are not extracted by 2D-FSET. Furthermore, we examined the changes of FSET processing result relativing to ROI size for frame direction. In the result, it is confirmed that the ROI size which lets extracted objet continuity greatest vairies from object to object.
