Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently Japanese society is rapidly aging. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare promotes home care and home medical care and reduces the number of long-term care beds. While elderly people who need care can be received direct services in institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes by nurses and social workers, their families must support them in case of home care and home medical care. It is important for the home care and home medical care products to reduce the burden of both caregivers and care receivers. We focus on clothes that are indispensable in daily life and examine an apparel design system for designing clothes for home care and home medical care. We present a deformation technique for smoothing three-dimensional surfaces as a cloth design method.
