Abstract(in English) | Presented is a new algorithm for the real-time visualization of large caved terrains without any pre-processing. The presented method utilizes a novel continuous level-of-detail (LOD) approach based on nested clip-boxes for visualizing the triangular geometry that is generated from large volume data. The algorithm focuses on simplicity and performance for fast rendering. In tests, the algorithm achieved an average of about 50 frames per second on a consumer level desktop system |
