Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A modified-binary-coded light emission scheme is known to reduce the dynamic false contours (DFCs) which appear on moving images on PDPs. However, as the number of the subfield (SF) increases, the small DFCs induced by the subfield division degrades the image quality. In this paper, the relation between the DFCs and number of subfields ranging from 8 to 32 were investigated by a computer simulation. It was found that even the small DFCs Can be fully reduced with 24 or more subfields. The effect was confirmed on the 42-in, W-VGA PDP having a capability of displaying 24subfields.
