Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this article, we report the experimental results of performance comparison of autonomous mobile robot controllers focused on the difference of neural network (NN) architecture. Network architectures compared in the experiments are "Sigmoid NN" which uses sigmoid function as its output function, "Radial NN" which uses radial basis function as its output function of the hidden layer's neuron, pulsed neural network (PNN), and "PNNSSP" which extends PNN so as to change synaptic efficiency in accordance with pulse frequency. The experimental results indicate that the efficiency of the robot which uses PNNSSP for the controller is superior in comparison with the other networks.
