Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Digital Spiking Neuron (DSN) has discrete-time and -state, and is a ultra-discrete system. The DSN can generate periodic spike-trains having various patterns of interspike intervals. In this paper we consider basic characteristics of the spike-train such as period and number of spikes. We also analyze correlation characteristics of the spike-train, and consider fundamentals for engineering applications. Using hardware description language (HDL), we design the DSN. Also, using field programmable gate array (FPGA), we implement the DSN and confirm its operation in the laboratory.
