Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We aim to develop a sensor that checks up diseases caused by the trace metals in human body using differential pulse stripping voltammetry, one of the highest sensitive method in electrochemical analysis. As a part of the aim, a sensor applied to screening for taste disorder was developed here. It is reported that 140, 000 patients have developed taste disorder in the whole country every year; taste disorder can be considered to be a kind of national affliction. It is therefore necessary to develop a technology, which can examine for taste disorder easily and inexpensively. In this study we discuss bismuth-film electrodes that are shown to be very attractive alternatives to common mercury electrodes by microscopic and electrochemical techniques. Using the selected conditions, the limit of detection was 1ppb for Zn at a preconcentration time of 10.min. Finally, the Bismuth-Film PFC electrodes were successfully applied to the detection of Zn in human saliva.
