A method of quantification of mammary gland on mammograms

Abstract(in English) Mammographic breast densities are one of the strongest breast cancer risk factors. A quantification of mammary gland in the breast can be used to diagnose the breast cancer risks. The purpose of this study is quantification of mammary gland on mammograms. Mammary gland which appear to be high intensity on mammograms are extracted by threshold of intensity. A tophat operation is also used, which can extract along mammary gland. Moreover, a tophat transformation is applied to mammograms which tumor appeared on and a significant result is obtained.
