Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Delay jitter causes QoS degradation in delay sensitive real-time multimedia communications. We focused on delay jitter reduction by utilizing multipath, i.e., forwarding duplicate data over a set of paths, and proposed a path set configuration scheme that selects a suitable set of paths for this purpose. Our scheme configures a path set that satisfies a delay constraint, and that has small shared nodes and delay difference. In our previous work, we evaluated our scheme through simulations under random networks and cross-traffic with Poisson processes, and showed that our scheme could reduce delay jitter more effectively than a conventional scheme that chooses the shortest path as the primary path. In this paper, we evaluated a path set configured by our scheme under networks with a property of power-law connectivity, and under cross-traffic with a property of self-similarity. From the results, we demonstrated that our scheme is more effective in realistic network models.
