Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the non-uniformity in special traffic distributions becomes obvious in the cellular communication systems with a micro-cell configuration, and the degree of the non-uniformity increases with narrowing the cell size. The dynamic cell configuration (DCC) scheme has been proposed to solve this problem. However, the transmission power becomes large for the mobile stations whose serving base station has been changed by the DCC control. Multi-hop connection technique has been proposed to expand a coverage area by using relay transmissions. The transmitted signals to/from the mobile station are relayed by a relay station which locates between the base station and the mobile station in the multi-hop communications. This paper proposes a transmission power reduction scheme using the multi-hop connection technique in the cellular communication systems with the DCC control. The simulation results demonstrate its effectiveness in the down-link communications of the CDMA cellular packet systems.
