Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report briefly introduces the author's recent studies on the optimization of finite-word-length effects of state-space digital filters. First, the coefficient sensitivity of a state-space digital filter is analyzed by using a pure L_2-norm, and the problem of minimizing an L_2-sensitivity measure subject to L_2-norm dynamic-range scaling constraints for a state-space digital filter is formulated. Next, the problem of minimizing roundoff noise in state-space digital filters by means of error feedback is introduced. The problem of minimizing roundoff noise in state-space digital filters by joint optimization of error feedback and coordinate transformation under L_2-norm dynamic-range scaling constraints is then explored.
