Abstract(in English) | We proposed train communication system using leaky POF as a method to speed up the communication between trains and the ground. We made the various GI Leaky POF and evaluated various characteristics of these fibers and Eska, experimentally. At first, the optimum incident position of LD, the grinding of fiber's side surface, the installing of parabolic light reflector and so on were examined in order to increase leaky light. By these measures, the received power has increased about 15dB at the 25m fiber position which is defined communication cover area. Moreover, it was shown that the optimum installation angle of receiver is about 70 deg. to the incident direction in case of GI-POF and Eska has no directivity. That is, it is necessary to modify the installation angle of the receiver according to the fiber which is used. Furthermore, it was shown that if we use high-power LD, the bandwidth of 400MHz can be assured within 25m section. From these results, we can say that the section where high-speed communication is possible is expanded, and leaky POF will be a very promising technology for high-speed train communication system. |
