Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Phase preservation by all-optical amplitude regenerators using fiber nonlinearity is experimentally examined. We compare the signal-phase fluctuation induced in the regenerator based on spectrum broadening and slicing using normal-dispersion fiber, that on soliton filtering using anomalous-dispersion fiber, and that on saturation of four-wave mixing interaction. We show that the regenerators based on soliton filtering or on saturation of FWM interaction induce less phase fluctuations than that based on spectrum broadening and slicing.
