Abstract(in English) We have developed a system to automatically generate time-varying virtual cities. For virtual cities, it is important to display the realistic city views with the specific building shapes. In this paper, we describe a method to generate various building shapes according to the features such as use and structures for each building. To visualize city views, in which a large number of building data are contained, we also use a level-of-detail (LOD) technique. It is achieved by dividing into elements of the building, simplifying them according to distance and reconstructing them. We demonstrate a city view generated by our method.
