Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems (AHS) are being developed in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) field. AHS purpose is to prevent traffic accidents by supporting driver behavior with real-time information about roads and nearby vehicles. Based on this idea, we previously proposed a driver assistance system for right turns at intersections. In the previous system, we captured the images of oncoming vehicles using a camera installed behind the opposing right-turning vehicles. However, it was difficult to get robust camera parameters or to detect oncoming vehicles by frame difference because the in-vehicle camera was moving. To solve these problems, we proposed a new capture method that uses an infrastructure camera installed on top of traffic lights. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to generate assistance images from an infrastructure camera.
