Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) H.264/MPEG-4 AVC has been widely adopted as an image format for a next generation DVD, digital broadcasting for mobile terminals. With the spread of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC contents, high-quality editing techniques are strongly required in order to reuse those contents. In particular, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC requires high-speed editing processing since it needs far more processing power than other existing formats such as MPEG-4, MPEG-2. In this paper, we propose a fast frame-accurate editing method for the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC contents. In the proposed method, we introduce "Adaptive conversion method switch" to an existing high-speed editing method with "Adaptive bit allocation and GOP-length modification" and "Re-quantization scheme with drift noise management". From our experiment, we confirmed that the proposed editing method is useful for frame-accurate editing tools such as cutting and splicing of the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC contents while maintaining its high speed and suppressing picture quality degradation.
