Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A highly directional loudspeaker like a spotlight is realized by the self-demodulation of an intense and amplitude-modulated ultrasound beam. This loudspeaker is based on the generation of a parametric array in the beam space, and is able to transmit a sound to a specific area that cannot be detected by people in adjacent locations. To expand audio applications of a parametric loudspeaker more widely, some new technologies such as appropriate signal processing to improve harmonic distortion are reported here.
