Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes an organ extraction algorithm using eigen-shapes. The eigen-shapes can express characteristic shapes of organs and are derived by PCA. Since any shapes can be approximated by linear combination of average and eigen-shapes, segmentation problem is considered to be equal to estimation problem of coefficients of linear combination and pose parameters. The estimation process maximizes a conditional probability of parameters where input image and its gradient image are given. This paper also shows results of applying the proposed method to liver and discusses the effectiveness.
