Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In land mobile satellite communications, a major problem is the frequent blockage of the satellite link by buildings, trees or other obstacles. Blockage is one of the key factor determining the availability of land mobile satellite communications. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate the satellite propagation to supply the land mobile satellite communication system to practical use. In this paper, we propose a satellite propagation prediction method by using three dimensional map data. In this report reflected wave is accounted along with the direct wave and diffracted wave. To verify the prediction accuracy of the proposed method, the prediction results and the measurement results were compared. As a result, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed.
