Abstract(in English) | Communicating with others, people can sometimes well communicate with each other and sometimes not, even if they have high social skills. This study focused on one of speaker characteristics, personal tempo, with adopting an index of switching pause. The results indicated that when speech tempo of inter-speaker is similar, communication going easier from the early stages of dialogue, and suggested that speech tempo influences communication. Moreover, it indicated that speech tempo of the former speaker defines when the latter starts. Based on these results, the role of "pause" in dialogues was discussed. |
