Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the hands-free telecomunication system, unlike the conventional handset, a microphone is not close to the mouth, but is fixed. Hence, since it is easy to gather the sound of ambient noise, the signal to noise ratio(SNR) becomes poor. In such environment, the performance of acoustic echo canceller(AEC), which is essential to a hands-free telecomunication system, deteriorates considerably. To solve this problem, it is effective for AEC to use a noise suppression circuit together, but the noise suppression circuit may deteriorate call quality because of an influence on near-end talker's signal. This paper therefore proposes a method to apply a noise suppressor to only updating of adaptive digital filter(ADF). The proposed mehtod can improve convergence speed of adaptive algorithms that valid for AEC by whitening of voice and improved SNR. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the ERLE about 5[dB] and the EA about 10[dB] in comparison with the conventional one.
