Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Peripheral information is not central to a person's current task, but provides the person the opportunity to learn more, to do it better, or to keep track of other tasks. He might miss some peripheral information or be distracted from his main task if it is not displayed effectively. It is important to understand the effect of displaying peripheral information on users' awareness. In our previous work, we researched effects of peripheral displaying methods on awareness of users using a keyboard. In this paper, we focus on cognition time and concentration level of users using a mouse. As the result of an experiment, we found effective peripheral displaying methods while a user is using a keyboard or a mouse.
