Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently mixed reality, which merges real and virtual worlds, has attracted much attention as a new information presentation technology. On the other hand, location-based information services have been emerging as promising applications in a ubiquitous network environment. With such a background this report describes the possibility of mixed reality as a networked media technology. Especially two topics are focused on : (1) wearable augmented reality which superimposes location-based information on a user's view in real time in our daily life and (2) networked telepresence which provides a user with spatio-temporally remote environments in real time with rich sensation.
